Colette X Gap Pop-up store

Paris boutique Colette and the GAP are teaming up for a temporary concept store in Manhattan. If you don't already know, Colette features accessories, bags, shoes, toys, and other sundry from a wide range of designers. And when I say wide, I mean Hello Kitty to Oakley to Chrome hearts to Lulu Guinness. Wide. I would venture to say that the design feel leans towards the Japanese aesthetic (assuming that the presence of Chrome Hearts is for the Lolita Goth types). In any case, the GAP needs a bit of added personality, and this collaboration may be just the thing. Unlike their previous designer capsule lines, which mainly featured white shirts and graphic T's, this one promises so much more. The designs found in the store will be rotating throughout the month with 'hard-to-find products from around the world and several exclusive collaborations'. I have included just a couple shots of items that struck my eye. Heathered grey jersey is a trend I love that isn't going to go away any time soon... so why not a clutch? And yes, every woman should own a trench, but my eye is attracted to little special details that spruce up basic pieces.
You can check it out at 5th Avenue and 54th street from September 6th to October 5th...and keep tabs on their website for updates on the project here.
