Martin + Osa

As promised in my intro manifesto...
As a stylist, I am exposed to new things constantly. Admitedly, I do live in a bubble known as Manhattan...this time I uncovered something that those living outside the big apple are probably already aware of:
Casual to upscale ready to wear with an emphasis on basic wardrobe elements that have fine details. This is where you'll go for good blouses, jackets, and cardigans...for both men and women.
The design seems to be getting better and better every season (perhaps it's because they've recently poached a designer from Burberry), and as we were shooting the fall collection, I found that they had a lot of fun layering elements that could add to any wardrobe. I saw fantastic
shrunken jackets, a great variety of unique knit wear, and nice inside-out silk blouses. They put a lot of emphasis in creating your own look by mixing and matching different textures and
shapes...and by god, belt it! You won't find single 'show' pieces here, but great quality staples. I would recommend having a look at the store, or shopping online when the fall stuff drops. In the mean time, it's fun to play with their 'layer it' studio on their website.
If you're getting bored with Banana Republic and J. Crew, this is one to watch.
