A unique twist on vintage glamour

A couple fashionweeks ago, I was hitting the shows with the fabulous make-up artist and editor of ZOOZOOM, Kelley Quan. She was wearing the most gorgeously ornate head piece, carefully hand crafted with special vintage ribbons, the most luxe feathers, and vintage beads. The presence of this small but significant object in her hair gave her whole outfit a new context. A simple black dress, all of a sudden was living in a world of old hollywood glamour. Her low side bun, braided to perfection was set off by this eye catching adornment. I would swear it even made her eyelashes just that more fluttery.
As it turns out, she had made the piece herself. And as the week wore on, she somehow seemed to manage to make several more pieces. Making each piece by hand, being inspired by her vintage findings, she has become quite prolific in her creations, as now there is a whole collection with each piece being completely different and exuding it's own personality. Next thing I knew, a designer was born, and the Severine collection was launched.
Yes, I know a lot of people have started donning feathers in their hair, and for good reason, as it adds personal flair and can dress up the most boring of outfits (try it with jeans even!). However, there is such an opportunity here for personal expression, that I feel Severine hits far better than just a simple feather headband. Her collection ranges from small barretts, to flapper head bands, tiaras, and showgirl pieces. You are sure to find a piece that speaks to your personal aesthetic and color palate.
