Dear Santa, I feel like I am always on a perpetual quest for the perfect boot. Somehow, I am much more picky about boots than other shoes, as there seem to be many ugly ones in existence. For the last couple years I have been happy as a clam donning my favorite biker style boots with small and girly dresses. They are comfy and bad-ass at the same time. However, lately, I've wanted to take it up a notch. I am in search of the perfect stack-heeled ankle boot. I am looking for something that goes to just above my ankle bone, fits snugly around said ankle (and mine are particularly small, so this is no easy feat), made out of a buttery soft black leather. I prefer a rounded toe (I have never been a pointy toe man-eater), and a thick stacked heel that is at least 3 inches tall. I am more partial to a lace-up boot, but am open to the idea of buckles if they are not too numerous or shiny.
Yes, I am a picky mo-fo. I blame my occupation: too many years of analyzing every detail of a garment for clients, and getting things tailored to be perfect, but I am confident that I will eventually find what I want. For now, it seems that the closest contenders are in the non-recessionista price range, but I can be patient. One thing I have discovered is that if there is anything I can dream up that I want to buy, it will, within a few months, be available to me at a decent price. The marketplace is built to supply demand, and I am not so egotistical to think that I am the only one who desires any one particular item in fashion.
As for these boots, when I get them, I will pair them with short and flirty dresses (preferably floral ones), and my cropped leather jacket. They will also wear very nicely with a pair of skinny jeans as well as my ripped up boyfriend jeans. In the picture above, I searched every corner of the web to find the best options: From left to right: DKNYC, Seychelles (tho the ankle may not be skinny enough for me), and the ever so coveted Ann Demuelemeester (perfection).
