Welcome!

This is the launch posting of my blog 'Guerrilla Stylist'...fashion from the frontlines.

I am a fashion stylist based in New York, and have been at it since January 2002.  Before that I was a political theatre director in the UK for 5 years...with very much punk rock leanings.
My ethos is that of perpetuating genuine self expression, truth, and freedom. How I went from political theatre to fashion? It's not too short of a leap. Lifestyle-wise, I really enjoy being freelance. Working on creative projects with different people everyday is my definition of joie de vivre. Also, as an ex-punker, we'd be the first to tell you that there is much to be expressed through what a person is wearing. So my approach to fashion is from the standpoint of personality. We all use fashion to communicate: our job position, our chosen leisure activity, our socio/religious/political stance, our self-esteem. Fashion, when used properly, can also help accentuate our different body-types. We are all unique and should dress accordingly. As a result, there will be no fashion-dictatorship on this blog. I will not tell you what to wear, as such things should differ greatly from person to person.
What I will do is report on what I see. I spend most of my work week shopping, at photoshoots, travelling, or in fashion showrooms. If I see something cool I will let you know. I am here to inspire. It is for you to decide what you do with the information.
