This stencil was found in Sayulita, Mexico and is a portrait of Emiliano Zapata, one of the original Mexican Guerrilla Leaders from many years ago. This one, folks, is the real deal.

Isn't 23 some sort of magical mystical number? Well, this weekend as I was returning my ill-fitting Rodarte for Target slip dress to the pop-up store in the meatpacking district, I came across what seems to me to be a genuine Banksy! I get the feeling it's been there a while, perhaps created during his visit to NYC last year? He remains my favorite, as his work is always beautifully crafted, creative, and most importantly, done with a sense of tongue-in-cheek humor.

This looks like a Banksy to me...It is his signature rat character. I can't quite tell what he is supposed to be holding tho. I found it in Soho, on Crosby street, I think.
